The annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute takes place in New York City on the first Monday of every May. Also known as the Met Gala, this event gathers some of the world's most renowned celebrities as they brandish wearable art. This gala also marks the grand-opening of the annual exhibit. This year, Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo was honored with an exhibit entitled "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between." East Harlem native Neek Bucks has been one New York City's best kept secrets for quite some time. Carrying on tradition, Neek's music describes many of the struggles, pit-falls and distractions prevalent throughout inner-city neighborhoods across the country. Neek paints vivid pictures of his life experiences with the help of descriptive lyrics that most would only expect from an older artist. Not only does the young rapper explain his pain through clever and witty rhymes, but also through project titles.
Here For A Reason is the first project from a mixtape series inspired by a shooting that left a bullet in Neek's head. On Sway in the Morning, Neek explained that although the bullet is still lodged in the tissue of the back of his head, he is still able to function normally. Since the debut of Here For A Reason, Neek has received a co-sign from Jim Jones.
On Thanksgiving, Neek dropped his latest project 4th Quarter, and a freestyle over Future and DJ Esco's "Married To The Game" surfaces as the first track. Several months later, Neek has released the visuals to the song. Check out the video below.
